Introduction
With the onset of the March/April/May long rains planting season, the county government initiated a ward-based seeds distribution program to ensure food security in the county. This year's distribution, which was flagged off at Randung', Gem West, will involve the provision of 188 metric tonnes of maize and sorghum seeds to over 54,400 farmers.
Economic Benefit
This seed distribution initiative will boost agricultural productivity, enabling farmers to maximize their yields and increase their incomes. The cultivation of staple crops like maize and sorghum will contribute to the county's self-sufficiency in food production, reducing reliance on imports and promoting economic stability in the agricultural sector
Citizen Benefit
The distribution of high-quality seeds will empower local farmers, enhancing their ability to produce bountiful harvests and ensure food security for their families and communities. Additionally, the increased availability of locally grown crops will improve access to affordable and nutritious food, contributing to the overall well-being of the county's residents.
