Kendu Bay Municipality, established in 2023 in Rachuonyo North, is a growing urban centre along Lake Victoria. It covers five wards and is regaining its historic role as a trade and transport hub. The area has strong health services led by Gendia Mission Hospital, active agriculture and fishing, and natural attractions such as Simbi Nyaima and Dango Wetland.
