Kendu Bay Municipality
Kendu Bay Municipality, established in 2023 in Rachuonyo North, is a growing urban centre along Lake Victoria. It covers five wards and is regaining its historic role as a trade and transport hub. Key developments include a modern market nearing completion, a planned bus park, and the county’s only functional showground. The area has strong health services led by Gendia Mission Hospital, active agriculture and fishing, and natural attractions such as Simbi Nyaima and Dango Wetland. The Municipality is improving sanitation, drainage, lighting, and the lakefront while supporting women, youth, and small businesses. With opportunities in hospitality, real estate, agro-processing, transport, and health services, Kendu Bay is positioning itself as a regional centre for investment and tourism.
