Introduction
In a bid to address food insecurity among school children in the county, Governor Gladys Wanga has through the Executive Committee, rolled out a school-feeding program that seeks to provide meals to students during the school day. The program has been shown to improve attendance, academic performance, and overall health and well-being of students. It can also help to alleviate the burden on families who may struggle to provide adequate nutrition for their children.

The program, which has been shown to have positive effects on attendance, academic performance, and overall health and well-being of students, is scheduled to be implemented this year. With a budget of KES 80 million approved by the county assembly, the program can also alleviate the financial burden on families who may struggle to provide adequate nutrition for their children
