Introduction
The
County Government of Homa Bay, through its Department of Blue Economy,
Fisheries, Mining and Digital Economy, has funded the construction of a
two-door pit latrine in Wang'chieng' ward. This sanitation project aims to provide
improved facilities for the local community at Alara Beach.
Economic Benefit
Lack
of adequate sanitation infrastructure hampers economic productivity, public
health, and human dignity. The new pit latrine helps address this issue in
Alara Beach by offering a clean, safe place for human waste disposal. It enables a healthier environment conducive to business
activity.
Citizen Benefit
For
Wang'chieng' ward residents, especially women and children, the latrine facility
enhances their daily living conditions. It provides privacy and security when
using the restroom, upholding personal dignity. Convenient access to hygienic
sanitation promotes better health outcomes.
