The establishment of a comprehensive outpatient block, commissioning of Kigoto maize milling plant and the 100 percent growth in a new cashless revenue collection regime are some of governor Gladys Wanga’s biggest achievements in her first 100 days as Homa Bay county governor.

“After our 100 days in office, I am happy to come back to our people to report that we remain in focus and very much on track as far as our campaign promises are concerned,” Governor Wanga said. “
She added: ” It has not been an easy task putting in place working structures, having taken over from a system that was ailing on all fronts. Our hope remains undeterred and work is indeed in progress.”
In the last Financial Year, Homa Bay county generated Ksh135 million in revenue, but in the month of October and November this year, the county managed to mobilise Ksh200 million in revenue, pointing to the endless potential that the Wanga administration believes in.
The county boss on Friday, highlighted additional achievements during her first 100 days as Homa Bay’s second governor.
She was speaking during an event at the county referral hospital, when she received the 100 days taskforce report from the committee chair, Mr. Ben Omollo.
“I salute the team that has worked round the clock to make this a reality. Let me thank the 100 days Taskforce for delivering on their mandate,” said Governor Wanga.

HEALTH
  • A restructured comprehensive Outpatient Bloc
  • Renal Unit Now operationalized
  • Dental Unit Now operationalized
  • Cancer Centre Being revamped
  • Blood Bank Now operationalized
  • Drug Supplies Restored in over 250 hospitals in the county.
  • CT Scan Now procured and Installation is underway.
  • Stipend to Community Health Volunteers. All the 3,000 CHVs now on a KES 2500 stipend. First pay cheque available in January.
