Homa Bay County Government, through the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Development, together with the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP), has distributed office furniture to 21 farmer Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs) across the county to strengthen institutional capacity, governance and service delivery.

The three-day exercise provided each beneficiary SACCO with two office tables, three office chairs, one lockable cabinet, six boardroom chairs and one executive chair to improve working conditions, record management, administrative efficiency and the conduct of board and members’ meetings.

The intervention seeks to strengthen grassroots farmer institutions, enabling them to deliver more organized financial services, promote collective investment, improve access to markets and support the development of agricultural value chains.

Through NAVCDP, Homa Bay County continues to invest in stronger, better-equipped and more sustainable farmer organizations as key drivers of agricultural transformation and improved livelihoods.
