The Homa Bay County Public Service Board, with support from the Strengthening Good Governance in Kenya (GoGo) Programme implemented by GIZ, conducted a week-long capacity-building workshop for its members and lead human resource management officers from all county departments.

The workshop aimed to strengthen participants' capacity to deliver efficient, effective and citizen-centred public services. It deepened their understanding of good governance and the role of strategic human resource management in improving public sector performance, while providing a platform to discuss strengthening institutional practices, enhancing inter-departmental coordination, and making county services more responsive to residents' needs.

By bringing together Board members and HR leaders from across departments, the workshop fostered a shared approach to workforce and service-delivery priorities. The knowledge and skills gained will inform ongoing efforts to build a capable, accountable and service-oriented county public service.
