Through our valued partnership with Jhpiego under the MCGL program, Homa Bay County has received a significant consignment of essential medical equipment valued at approximately KES 21 million. This investment marks a major step forward in strengthening maternal and newborn healthcare services across the county and reaffirming our commitment to improving health outcomes for mothers and children.

The equipment package includes life-saving oxygen support systems, neonatal resuscitation equipment, patient monitoring devices, delivery care tools, and simulation models for continuous clinical skills training. These resources are specifically designed to address critical gaps in maternal, newborn, and child health services by supporting quality care throughout the continuum, from pregnancy and safe delivery to postnatal care and newborn survival.

The acquisition is expected to significantly enhance the operational capacity of health facilities and empower frontline healthcare workers with modern tools necessary for timely diagnosis, emergency response, and specialized newborn care. In addition, the simulation and training equipment will strengthen the skills and preparedness of healthcare providers, ensuring sustained quality improvement in service delivery.

Ultimately, this investment will contribute to safer childbirth experiences, reduce preventable maternal and neonatal deaths, and move the county closer to achieving universal access to quality healthcare for all residents.
