Qualifications for appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the
following fields: – Commerce, Business Management, Business
Administration, Marketing, Economics, Cooperatives Management,
Entrepreneurship or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized
institution;
- Master’s Degree in any of the
following fields: – Commerce, Business Management, Business
Administration, Marketing Economics, Cooperatives, Management,
Entrepreneurship or its equivalent qualification from a recognized
institution;
- Membership to a relevant
professional body;
- Demonstrate a high degree of
professional and technical competence in work performance and results;
- Must have undergone Strategic
Leadership Management Course lasting not less than one (1) month from a
recognized institution in Kenya; - Must be computer literate;
- Be
a person of integrity and in compliance with requirements of Chapter Six
of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
Responsibilities
- Guiding and supervising
implementation of County policies, strategies and programmes on
investment;
- Coordinating investment
functions of the County;
- Providing technical guidance
and advise in investment issues.
- Coordinating results based
planning and performance measurement in the Directorate,
- Overseeing the development of
microfinance and other financial institutions in the County through close
working relationship with relevant entities and stakeholders;
- Formulation, implementation and
coordination of trade and investment policies, strategies and programmes
in the County;
- Coordinating research and
development on emerging issues in trade and investment;
- Monitoring and evaluating
investment programmes and policies;
- Preparing periodic and status
report on investments in the county;
- Coordinating county empowerment
and other investment related funds in the county in close working
relationship with other relevant county organs;
- Developing investor and
investment maps and linkages to grow investments in the county;
- Ensuring that professional
guidelines and standards on investments are adhered to;
- Performing
any other duties and responsibilities that shall be assigned by the
supervisor from time to time

- All Directors report to the relevant Chief Officers in
their Departments.
